Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

At 6:00 AM, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or residence in Arusha by your driver-guide. After collecting picnic lunches, you’ll embark on a 190 km drive along the paved road to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area entrance.

Once at the gate, you’ll head to the Crater Rim for a brief stop to admire the stunning view from the top before descending into the crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest intact calderas, is a breathtaking natural wonder. It’s home to the Big Five—Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Elephant—along with Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena, and more. Birdlife includes flamingos on the soda lake, as well as geese, storks, vultures, and other species.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitokok Swamp near a hippo pool, followed by an afternoon of game viewing. Around 2:00 PM, ascend from the crater and return to Arusha.
