Day 0: Pre-Trek Briefing
If you’ve arranged for airport transfers, we’ll pick you up from Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and transport you to your hotel in Moshi. It’s best to arrive at least a day before your trek. Today, we will conduct a pre-trek briefing at your hotel, review your equipment, and assist with any necessary rentals.
Day 1: From Hotel to Mandara Hut
After breakfast and the briefing, we’ll drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (approximately 1 hour). After registration, we’ll start the climb through the rainforest to Mandara Hut. You may opt for a side trip to Maundi Crater for spectacular views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Keep an eye out for Eucalyptus trees, local bird species, and Colobus monkeys.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Move on from the rainforest and climb through open moorlands to Horombo Hut. Enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, and look for giant lobelias and groundsel plants. You might start to feel the effects of the altitude.

Day 3: Rest Day at Horombo Hut

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Summit and Back to Horombo Hut
Begin the summit climb early in the morning, reaching Gilman’s Point on the crater rim and then Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. Descend to Horombo Hut, enjoying the incredible views along the way.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Moshi
After breakfast, descend through moorland to Mandara Hut, then continue through lush forest to the Marangu Gate. A vehicle will transport you back to your hotel in Moshi.
