Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your exciting safari begins today! You’ll be picked up by our professional driver-guide from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a safari briefing. Then, you’ll set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, famed for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, some of the oldest and largest in Africa.
From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you’ll experience the park’s seasonal swamps, savannahs, and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and an array of bird species. After an eventful day, you’ll head to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2: Mto wa mbu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing the Malanja Depression on your way to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. You’ll make a quick stop at Naabi Hill Gate, where you can stretch your legs with a short walk around the Naabi Hill Kopjes, massive granite boulders offering stunning views.
After a picnic lunch at the gate, you’ll continue with afternoon game drives in the expansive Serengeti, whose name is derived from the Maasai word ‘Siringet,’ meaning ‘endless plains.’ As the plains stretch far and wide, you’ll have ample opportunities to spot the park’s incredible wildlife. In the evening, you’ll stay at your lodge, or if you’ve opted for a camping safari, you’ll sleep at Seronera Campsite.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, perhaps visiting the hippo pools or the Seronera Visitor’s Center. After a hearty bush breakfast, you’ll continue your exploration of the Serengeti, gradually making your way back to Naabi Hill Gate. By early afternoon, you’ll cross into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. Thanks to its year-round water supply, the crater hosts an incredible array of animals, including wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, elands, warthogs, hippos, and the giant African elephant.
The crater is also known for its dense population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. A visit to Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, offers sightings of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds. After a thrilling day, you’ll return to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay or transfer to Zanzibar. (Accommodation can be arranged upon request at an additional cost.)
